For Bob and Peggy Levesque, the size of the community and the quality of the construction set Windsor at Glen Mills apart from other 55+ communities they considered.
"We knew Windsor was the place we wanted to live from the first time we saw it," said Peggy. "The size of the community seemed right. It has every amenity we could wish for, but it's small enough that we feel like we own what's here. Every 55+ community has a clubhouse, but the thought of sharing it with thousands of other residents didn't appeal to us."
"The builder did a nice job putting the building up, and everything is well thought out," Peggy continued. "There are a lot of trees behind us, and we still see deer in the morning. We're right on Route 1, which is very convenient, and we don't hear the traffic at all. I feel very safe coming and going, and everything is very well lit-even the garage."
While Bob was at first reluctant to give up single-home living for a 55+ community, he was quickly won over by life at Windsor. "I didn't want to go to a place where we would be discussing all our ailments or who's going to the hospital for what," Bob said. But the dynamic mix of residents at Windsor quickly put his mind to rest.

"There's a very young, positive feeling to the community," said Peggy. "Most of the residents are professionals, which was something we were looking for. About half the residents are retired, but many of the retirees still work part time."
Active on several Windsor committees, the Levesques enjoy the abundant opportunities for social interaction at Windsor. "I grew up in a small town, and this community feels like a small town," said Peggy. "The residents get together in the clubhouse great room every Friday night," Bob added. "We've had Italian dinners, soup dinners and a pig roast for the 4th of July weekend."
The Levesques moved to Windsor from a three-story, four-bedroom colonial, and they haven't missed the space - or the home maintenance - one bit. "We had no trouble fitting everything we wanted. Our master bedroom is big, and we love the sunlight that comes in through our huge bay windows," said Peggy.
"I kinda fought it at first," Bob added. "But the transition for us has been no problem at all. From the day we moved in, I thought, 'Why didn't we do this before?'"
